and so the aroma still lingers
surfacing through windows
released from memory

resurrecting forgotten fragrances
in the cinema of synaptic seascapes

a volley of voices, tricky to recall
still struggle to emulate
the significance of our presence

moments we shared
enduring visions we held onto so dearly

flickering like speckled light through treetops
materializing designs from treasured thoughts

filling valleys with colors of spring
budding through storms of our untiring embrace

restating unblemished proposals
within the scent of unparalleled dreams

settling like fleshy dewdrops
upon the leaves of my thoughts

capturing the mist once again retraced

The images are light and airy, the thoughts are not. Interesting contrast

This is like going thru the tunnel of love strapped upside down to the lead car after three shots of tequila, where neither sights nor sounds are clear but you seem to always know where you are. Helluva ride, but I enjoyed it!

Such a beautiful poem, Jude ... Beautiful memories are treasures that linger always ... It's such a warm feeling to remember someone special whom had touched our hearts ... Hope your Christmas was as beautiful as your poem ...

'Tis the season for reflection. Looking back, most things seem far more romantic or tragic than they actually were at the time. We tend to remember the best and the worst and everything in the middle kind of fades away. Moving forward we draw on the past and search for the magic that we once had. Sigh, in a way, it seems that those old memories interfere with current relationships, sometimes.

There is nothing quite like remembering past magical sensations, even though some may be bittersweet.
