~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would sit for hours in your garden
overflowing with color and aroma
aroused in the utter beauty of its presence
I loved how your garden
flowed with exotic flowers
a living painting shaped by a master
the tang of fresh earth
was so invigorating
I felt planted into its magnificence
at times your smile
would blossom like a flower
so vivid with color
the entire garden
would blush with envy
at times your voice would fill the air
like a mysterious sense of perfume and spice
in these moments paradise revealed itself
even for a fleeting moment
listening to your hidden sighs
I would try to let you know
that you shouldn’t weep
but you said the tears falling to the ground
kept your garden growing
I knew my words were like distant breezes
upon a worn and tired soul
and so I would listen to your heartache
and try to get you to smile in-between the sobs
now when I sit in your garden
the flowers are gone
all the branches are bare
yet I can still feel the wonder
you planted in my heart
as well as the heartache you embraced
inside polar winds
so long ago
and so far away
Inside polar winds the magnificant gardens and essence
to embrace the so far away. Tender moments of the heart and soul.
Words skillfully painting a picture so vivid and clear it might as well be a painting. Well done!
Pleasurable emotions gives way to sad memories . . . A situation which, unfortunately, happens often.
