~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
wandering through
a tear in the textile of time
a storm approaches
can feel it in my bones
can feel its far-off periphery
making its presence known
like the dark neon-blue horizon
reflecting upon the shore
like a silhouette
dancing inside a theater of dreams
where a mysterious slant of light
brightens the staged darkness
it is your sentence
and salvation
I watch you pirouette
upon a platform of dreams
where they lead
only performers can say
but I do applaud
with the audience
watching the performance
pretend to bleed from mended wounds
You shook the poetic rafters with this gem!
"pirouette upon a platform of dreams" is goofy good.
watching the performers, "pretend to bleed" is drama ... mending wounds? ... one can only hope ... Awesome poetry, Jude ...
Jude drama always seems to amass from the distance and approach some what in stealth. As to the performance and its pretension to bleed from mended wounds there is an aura of mystique. Fine work my friend, fine work.
Jude it's so good when the wounds mend. I so much enjoy your work.
Oh, this was another great one. Unique at its finest. I wish I knew how to get it in front of more people.
Love the "textile of time" part, sort of a space thing about ripping a hole in the fabric of time...could see each and every visual in my mind & loved this one and will wonders never cease, I understood it for the most part...take care, Bob...-e-
Actually I preferred the last two lines, (sorry Sherry), they put abject realism into the poem. It needed that realism I'm thinking.
Stocked up on grub & grog, sit back and watch the performance, the story, an exposé, planned idea that was Born This Way
Blockbuster! Pass the whiskey, pass the Band-Aids...from snow white to red to blue! Encore!
I can so relate to, and am so drawn into this poem. I will admit that for me, I like it better without the last two lines. Suddenly those just snapped me out of flow that I was caught up in. Lots of excellent visuals in this one, Jude.
