I feel like I’m standing
on the surface of the moon

looking ahead
and absorbing the cold warmth of our sun

marveling at the blue surface
on the orb we all were born

seems the older you get the more you wonder about leaving
to remember the origin of the journey ahead

when the scenes I’ve enjoyed and endured
become a blur in the motion of time and space

when the energy remaining in my thoughts
rearrange and redesign their perspective

because the dreams of mankind
do not resemble the goals of true man

sometimes I remember how vast life really is
and how deep love can be

and how I must never surrender to uncertainty
probing every possible direction

and never allow the inconsistencies of doubt
to tumble into the space I inhabit, at least not without a fight
