common dreams entangle nightmares
inside awkward fish bowls of broken swimmers

old men look like one another
old women look like their men

crazy people compliment lazy thinkers
they march to the constant pounding inside tethered hearts

I look around for the conductor
his continuous absence fortifies my peddled convictions

the highway is overly congested
but I have alternate routes stored in wait
