Vulnerable

Within the realm of self

There lies a question of why

Why is there doubt?

Perhaps it’s the question

Why is there always pain?

Or maybe,

Why do I keep trying?

Personally, I feel this way

Why am I this way?

This is when I find out

How much life hurts

When dealing with double standards

The lack of communication in love

Yet when one is open and the other is not

Friction is created and so is despair

Why can’t you see!

Your silence is killing me slowly

Deep in my soul

And I f***ing hate you for it

How can one expect

So much from someone else

When they can’t even

Live up to it themselves?

Delusional I may be

Yet my heart breaks with every breath

When I look at you

I see what once used to be

The man I fell in love with

So long ago and now

Nothing what you once were

Your lack of communication

Tears at me bit by bit

You just sit there quietly

Pretending to be asleep

While I lay there and shed tears

Into my pillow I do weep

I have forsaken everything

Given up all I enjoy

Just for you my love

And this is how you thank me

By being silent and uncaring

Why are you like this?!?!?

I never know what you feel

For what you show is one mask

For all that encompasses life

You say you love me

Yet, how am I to believe that

When all you show me is this?

I’m lost without you

Yet, push me away you do

With your words of nothing

What happened to the man I love?

Why did you leave me?

Yet there you sit silently

Leaving me to wonder why

Why does life have to bee this way?

You say you know me better

Than I even know myself

Yet my words you never read

This is my soul standing naked before you

Thoughtful poem. Too many try to force a relationship where there is none. The red flags are all there. A fine work. Bravo.

EXCELLENT, and sad.
"When dealing with double standards

The lack of communication in love

Yet when one is open and the other is not

Friction is created and so is despair

Why can’t you see!"
