I wish it did not matter, the trust in the eyes of a child,
a fire raging hot and wild,
the cars, trucks busses and everything that moves.
the boats and all the ships at sea.
Hey Mrs. Mac Tavish, what’s going on here?
I don’t know now,
and I did not know then,
some say it doesn’t matter,
I wish it didn’t matter,
the stars light up the dark, dark, night,
the moon set so high,
the sun set so low,
the pale blueness of a cloudless sky…
I wish it didn’t matter, but it matters to me…
yes, it matters to me.
Yet, I wonder why?

as the children of He that created all, why should it not matter to us -- to be and to have been, are the most immense of gifts -- to not care, would be incomprehensively thankless of us -- good, thought provoking poem Dan -- peace and love -- Jon Michael
'but it matters to me...' You know once a long ago someone asked me why I cared and I remembered thinking at the time that there should be a reason why. Now I know that thre doesn't need to be... only that I do. It's so nice reading your words again.... you were missed!
All things mattr even when we don't know why, but moods are funny things one day up anothr day down and it can make such a difference...Excellent poem DL
