How is it supposed to be?
Understanding the
Conundrums of life,
It’s quite a mystery to me.
Are we seekers or revealers of mystic truths?
Do we come, when we should go?
Who is the push me, who is the pull me?
Truth is told, I don’t know.
Is that response life’s only honest answer…?
You know what I mean,
‘I don’t know’
What is it to ‘know?’
Is it special, making me special
(Only if I know, of course)
Does a light flash?
Like bolts of lightning, opening up the night, or,
Do I make a sudden dash?
To a spiritual place…to have truths revealed,
Or do I just know?
I don’t have an answer, but I think I will go.

What is it to know? Good question :) I've read in the book, "The Spirit of Leadership" that "learning comes from education, while knowing comes from revelation." I thought of this after reading your poem. You're a gifted poet. I enjoyed this. LOVE, PEACE, and BLESSINGS ^_^
D.L., your poem points to the relativity of knowledge as defined by man -- yet as you ask, "what is it to know?" -- certainly it must be an electrochemical balance that pushes us to seek and then, neutralize when we believe(?) we, know(?) -- this is a teaser that asks the eternal question, how is it possible to inconclusively know,the first bit of information that can be used as the basis in fact to prove or disprove anything(relative of course) -- may peace and love be always with you my friend -- Jon Michael

Hi Dan, sometimes it is better to just listen and be carried away somewhere by the music... eyes closed, mind blank, destination unknown... everything will be revealed in His own good time and then we will have answers. Peace and love in Christ.
Great questions Dan. Maybe you were listening to Johnny Cash singing "What is Truth?" Or maybe The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" I wonder if we all don't have more questions these days and less answers. And, well, I kinda like it that way. And aren't we bombarded with information overload these days? We know so much more than we need to know.
