I Have Been To Hell
I have been to hell and back a few times.
Courageously I have walked into the fire
But more times than not I was thrown
Kicking and screaming all the way
I always emerged purged
…..And scarred
We each fight our own demons
Mine with walls
To allow a safe place to rest
So I may fight again
But my walls are crumbling
No longer protecting
The pain is great and I am weary
Many trying to find me to save me
Don’t ask me to open the door to hell
I fear the scorching, killing backdraft
I fear wolves in sheep’s clothing
I no longer trust, my perception’s warped
Through a fissure I see an outstretched hand
How do you know I won’t pull you in?
I will burn alone before I take you down
An army of one, I stand my ground
I have no footing, I see no way out
Salty sweat and smoke blinding me
Stumbling, crying out in the dark
Only to emerge at dawn
Purged, from nighttime’s hell
Love,
Eileen
Newfie Hugs coming your way, Rose
You have a big heart - not wanting to take anyone down into your "hell," but as your friend I'd take your place [if I could] just so you wouldn't have to go through hell. You know me, I'll give you space and time, but then I have to make sure that you're ok - cause I love you. You aren't ever alone anyway - you always have God.
I hope this poem took away some hell, and is bringing you baaack.
I love you,
Kathy
That pic....incredible!

Be safe,

For having descended into the pits of Hell, you've emerged, stronger, better than before (albeit scarred). Who cares? The fact that you've survived life is a feat in itself! I saw great empowerment and courage in your painful words. Believe in you: I do. :) Well done.
((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla.
