Let Him Go

After a whimsical post, I received a message to “Get real”.  This is as real as it gets.  For those of you who have had to make this decision, I have stood in your shoes.  For the rest of you, I hope you are never in this position.

Let Him Go

No fault should befall me

You had made your choice

An instrument of your verdict

I was only your voice

Some cried not to give up

But already the decision was made

It was not a judgment of emotion

When I decided to withhold aid

“Let him go” ended it

Though some were blind

I still hear their cries

Everyday in my mind

My own words echo, too

Was it a mistake?

I carried out your wishes

Though I wanted to hesitate

My heart is at peace

But daily I battle my mind

Who knew the repercussions

Of the plan we had outlined

Carried out with love

That choice made long ago

My whole life changed

When I said “Let him go”

Letting go is never a mistake, holding on to the unknown is the mistake.

Raelynn you are a wonderful person and a strong lady to carry out his wishes, it takes a lot of courage to grant the wishes of those we love. We have to feel in our heart we did what we felt was right, and you made those decisions out of love. I am so happy to know you as a friend.

It takes courage to do the right thing and to "break free." Thank you for sharing your wisdom born of experience, RaeLynn. Love and peace to you,

Yes, let him go, nothing good can come from someone trying to go away, we can't hold what don't wish to stay.
Let him go and it will set you free to mend your soul, dry the tears and delete the sad grimace to give lieu to a shy smile where the butterfly of a kiss can lean.
And about getting real, the one writing that should follow its own suggestion.

Dear God, I admire you for your strength and steadfastness. Certainly not an easy decision to be made, but when God is calling there is only one answer....

Be safe,
Karen

Rae throughout our lifes we all face and are forced to make difficult decisions or in some cases non-decisions that we must live with for the rest of our lifes. Sometimes they are ther right decisions, sometimes the wrong and sometimes we will never know for certain. While getting to know you over the past little while I believe you would only do what you believe to be best...and that is all any of us can truly do.

The loving decisions that we make in life might continue to peck away at our life. You know my philosophy - the decision was made WITH LOVE to let him go. It would have been selfish to make him stay. Been there, made those decisions 3 times [my sons].

I love you. God bless you. Your friend and partner in cards.
