Night Terrors Captured A hostage Gunfire and bullets Maniacal laughter Death Wounded screams The smell of gasoline Flames erupt Escape now Run crouched Pray Each breath explodes Stealing a glance The building now gallows Against the night sky Cremation of those within Fear now replaces survival Terror unbound Can not help No stopping this horror Must hide No, get away Far away Running Burning legs fail On a knoll Looking back Sounds muted Smoke rising A mile away Still scared Curled in a ball Every creak warning Horror searching a home In my soul No rescue Alone Crying Courage destroyed Never again free Author�s note: Those who have read me know of my nightmares. Just another rough night.

Striking write and catches and traps the very essence of a nightmare and how it can keep us a prisoner of fear. I love the format here Rae and how you let this unfold like a short story in segments that just add to the terror of the whole. Great images projuected.
