You are my woman the love of my life Through many years apart we loved Then one spring day I called you wife We loved like there was no tomorrow And midst sad and useless storm and strife We parted with such needless sorrow Friend and lover to me were you Now somehow all gone askew One thing only I ask of you Is there nothing we can do If answering me the word is no With broken heart away I’ll go But would you please just tell me why I’ve cried so much my tears are dry ©2007 Walt Hardester

"I've cried so much my tears are dry" is what I would call a double negative using metaphors. Loved the entire piece, Walt. You really know how to get down to the bare facts when you tell a story.

A question many of us have asked sometime in our lifetime, and I sadly wonder if we ever really know the real answer.
