Listening

The rush of noise, has
stilled
the silence deep
though I be half deaf
I turn my good ear
to hear the melody of fluted
notes
drifting upward, out of the
abyss of darkness ,emptiness
from far, far below
they rise upward
and I breath in their courage and
strengthen me, so I shall
carry on
not by choice
or by chance
but ,because I
must

There seems to be a lot of strength and determination in this write...even if it's because "you must." Enjoyed it.

You are a warrior and will survive! You have the love and support of yore children and the boys at the lodge. I am so happy to see that you are writing again, you are very talented. SC

This reminds me of the saying "Do,or Die!" I DO because I must, else my life would have no meaning. Well said.

God bless you. Kathy

soooooooooo ooo glad you posted. ..

this reminds me of a place i know, Echo Amphitheatre in northern N.M.. . .how even the wind can strike a chord this resoonant, this divine. . .so many ways to reverb this write; music of heartstrings and the like. .. pleas of desperation from deeper than the soul can go. ..strife, breaking, freeing. ..

and it conjures a river; how i feel when canoeing. .. the stillness of rushing water so pounding within the very soul .. .. how even the sound can trap you against a wall; trapped within echoes and echoes and sirens and sirens. ..beckoning. ..calling. ..
i can feel strength and sorrow in this both...

i again am just soooOSosoos glad you posted; anytime you do, but especially this one. ..

loved this.. .

breathable and truthful and wonderful

Stan,

L O V E the imagery in this one...and the strength, the r e s o l v e, to carry on. Reminds me of a firefighter in search of a victim: despite the terror, the heat, the roar surrounding them, it all mutes to silence and absolute concentration. Excellent.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
