Pay attention, your standing every minute of the day!

The devil rides the night

To hide away from light

Away from angels sight

Fear rides on his back

Along that midnights track

No evil thereof lack

Silent in black shadows steals

Away the souls he deals

To hell and all its wheals

To late your evil heart

Now forever part

He warned you from the start

God knew your sinful stain

You tried to hide in vain

Send Satan you to claim

No time now you repent

This is your final end

The hourglass is spent!

Inner peace is never lasting, teh devil grabs it, and the angels wrestle it away from them and gives it back, a constant cycle. Jasmin, nice write.

So doomed is the sinner...but isn't there always time to repent...even with the last breath one takes?

Well, this poem is excellently written...you give the devil his due and a sorry creature he is.

Be good, Jasmin Horst. I miss you.

I like how you introduce this style of poem (you have a few I see) with the one line commentaries. Again such original arranging of these simple verses gives it immediate impact--in this case a frightening reminder, too bad more readers outside the "choir" aren't listening. (maybe they are, as a lot don't leave comments)
