The Indians captured three cowboys
And they gave them a last request
The first cowboy asked for a simple smoke
Then they quickly put him to death

The Chief spoke to his people
'He will make a fine canoe
Rip off his skin and hang it out
Then we'll deal with the other two'

So they granted the second his last request
And he asked for a meal of steak
They gave him the meal then cut his throat
A fine canoe he would also make

But the last wee cowboy had a strange request
Asked the puzzled Indians for a fork and knife
And the Indians watched him shake with fear
This white man was full of strife

So the Chief gave him the fork and Knife
But he quickly climbed the T-Pee
And he stabbed his body all over with the fork
From his chest to below the knee

'Why are you stabbing yourself with the fork white man?'
The Chief shouted as his blood ran free
'You can kill me all you like.' he answered
'But you'll make no bloody canoe out of me'
