Mr stupid joined the cavalry
But he just didn't make the grade
General Custer walked right up to him
"You haven't made it, I'm afraid"

But Mr Stupid, he began to cry
Begged him not to throw him out
"I'll tell you what," the general said
"You can be our leading scout"

"So here is your first mission
Hostile Indians you must seek"
So Mr Stupid rode through the gates
Bore a smile from cheek to cheek

It was one day later when he returned
"Sir, there's not a hostile Indian in sight"
So they rode to the Little Big Horn
These Indians would have a sorry plight

But soon they were surrounded
And the troops were torn asunder
General Custer called to Mr Stupid
His face it was like thunder

"You said there was no hostile Indians
But these arrows in me aint' from Cupid
I knew I should have thrown you out
'Cause you're really bloody stupid"

"Sir, I hate to burst your bubble here
But your lives I would not be chancin'
These Indians didn't look hostile to me
'Cause yesterday they were singin' and dancin'

(War dance)      G J Tate copyright 2010
