Frailty

Frailty


 


this frail body


of flesh and blood


could only be bones


if it weren’t for lovers


who bring heat to your blood


and your flesh to a boil


 


this mortal soul


of earthly finalities


cross into the realms of love


with lovers embraces


and sweet honey kisses


they help soothe the sorrow


or cause it to brew


it’s a frail futility
