Born to Innocence

All children are born to innocence

knowing only joy and love

The world hasn’t spoken yet

to break their hearts

It shows reality

turn from pleasure and happiness

to pain and sorrow

They will have to learn

to love or hate

Oh little one, oh little one

if you wouldn’t grow old

you wouldn’t have to know

this world is ugly

You’d know only beauty

The children are alone

with their hearts of gold

They are born to innocence

So true, Dale. Innoncence is golden; unfortunately, the world tarnishes it. Its luster shall be restored though, I believe. Thank you. Love and peace. Regis

How true Dale! Innocence is lost much too early in todays culture.
So sad, we should be able to do better! Excellent poem!

Dear Dale,
This is such a poignant and tender write from a man with a heart of gold. What you say here is so true and I wish so much that innocence would never be lost. I wish innocence for myself.
Much love precious friend

Dale, if only more would remember the innocence of childhood, the world would be a better place to dwell upon. An excellent well-penned expressive composition. Thanks for sharing it.
