Shape Shifter

The coyote is the trickster
singing a spirit song...
the hawk & eagle soar

the spirits of the totems
have many shapes...
they come from the power places
Mother earth has provided
Father sun has shown the way
We travel to the Devil’s Tower
feeling the immense power
the ancient spirits totems travel
they wander between time,
between this dimension to another
the land of the unknown...

shape shifting we walk those paths
visions guide our way
a bird flys away
like the hawk & eagle
they speak to me, whispering...
whirling into a circle
I view the vast beyond
the earth revolves

Howling...the wolfs path
the stars in the night
falling fiery

the coyote sings...
singing to the shape shifters
I’m the trickster

you capture the mood of the wolf's spirit in this excellent metaphorical poem, Dale ...

Super title, Dale, and a nice flow in the spirals. It is good to see someone keeping the shaman dream-stuff alive.

Touche!! And so you are, Dale! You can weave your desert magic and fire into any mythological tale you please. You seem so at one with this environment of camp fires and blankets on the ground You and your tales are living, breathing and palpable. And I bet your survival skills are first rate, besides your poetry! :)) Another yarn to enjoy the spinning of.... K xx

Through the Amazon by S. Oliver Eldridge

The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
