 Breathe in Fury

we breathe in fury

frenzied and ferocious

emotions screaming

just to be heard above the din

the wind is howling

black clouds growling

accumulating for the storm

creating sorrow and joy

the rain comes

amidst thunder and lightening

we cry in our dreams

tears welling into puddles

it flows from our hearts

filled to the brim

we find love in the sea

waves crash to the shore

our lives ebb and flow

rivers of dreams

oceans of sorrow

loves resides in the deep

we hear the dramatic beat

pounding like a million drums

helping love to flow back in

crashing, rising in the white caps

swell after swell

we reach for lovers beach

realizing sandy sleep

where dreams come true

we long for intimacy

wishing not to be alone

unable to live without love

longing to be touched

our bodies are a floating mist

drifting in the nebulas

gathering like the morning dew

only to evaporate

we gather with the clouds

casting shadows upon the ground

waiting for the rain

to release our fears

we long for another

hoping to be real

anxious for laughter

to join with passion

we breathe in a fury

The title (and first and last line of the poem) creates a mental image that is interesting and truthful. Your poem shows the hope, anxiety and contradiction of us humans trying to live with our passions and emotions.

Yep, we poets seem to chime and resonate for sure today, Dale. Perhaps we are just a load of hot air and thermals, banging and clanging together, cookin up a storm to let off a loada steam! But passion and laughter the real furore, for certain sure. I like this strident, loud and proud piece. Totally real! :)) xx
