a star blinks dim
the motion of brain
waves insurmountable
a trajectory of life
pauses in flight
emotional cruise control
drifts calmly in fright
notices a death awaits
spraining a memory
straining glimpse of sanity
while the mind defines
reality across universal night
star shines defiantly
shading the sunny side
of intricate sight
an eye winks
while conscious thought
struggles with its boundaries
the mind stumbles
