St. Elmos Fire

St. Elmos Fire

luminous fire balls
flashing in electric blue
lighting up a desert night

stampeding cattle
horns aglow
thundering ore' the arroyo
tumbling and rumbling
thunder heads
spent in canyon land
dry river beds awash

mad shamans
cast desert spells
clouds scatter all around
elementary patterns
form drought formations
miles of vanilla
melting in velvet horizons

blended chocolate sands
sun browned
down upon the ground
blue-gray sky
rolling plains vanish
humbled by austerity
and dry lightning

Just when I think you've outdone yourself, you blow me away again. The visuals are stunning!!! Who needs graphics when the images you bring forth from a magic pen are so alive?! You are part of this landscape, not just an observer. You document your surroundings through the eyes of the spiritual and that is a beautiful thing, Dale. This beauty is going in my library and will probably burn holes in the other pages...xxx Lin

I love the surreal qualities of this vivid depiction, Dale. Almost Dali-esque in its madness and mayhem, hinged between spiritual, supernatural worlds and the awesomeness of the natural world around us. Fabulous evocative detail highlighted by striking colours and richness of textures. Something definitely earth-shattering happening here! :)) xx
