How alone could one be?
with everything
holding on so tightly
without feeling
How alone was the Sun?
with the heavens
when blinded by its
brilliance without anything
with only darkness
sliding gently like a
silhouette
melting into life’s mirage
shimmering like ghosts
haunting the midnight’s
madness
the heat was a fever in our
minds
grasping for the shadows
they slipped silently between
our fingers
into the fiery heat
melting like our memories
losing sight of yesterday
leaving us with nothing
How alone could one be?
sliding ever gently into
the mirage
shimmering in reflection of
ourselves
captured by today’s actions
those thoughts we carry always
mutations
true revelations of lies we
believe
they slip into our consciousness
where dreams reveal life’s
unconsciousness
perhaps they were dreaming of us
and we were the shadows
that slip silently into dark corners
which define the midnight
awaiting the dawns shimmering
mirage
when daylight becomes nothing
but a dream
