Frozen Heart

Oh, how your skin shone
frozen in the moonlight

The clouds of mist seem so cold

The shadows glimmer ever slightly
the tears melt into the icy fog
trembling with the morning light
all for the love of you

Oh, it’s an awesome glow
as crisp morning light breaks

Sun rays melt and shower us
shivering in naked repose
silence quiets the crying
all for the love of you

Oh, how futile is the night
starlight freezes our minds

Our shadows embrace
the tears frozen like crystals
in this world of glass, my heart shatters
all for the love of you

Oh, death has an icy grip
our kiss froze forever in time

The clouds of mist seem so cold

Your poem cloaks me in the same mist. It is a saddness to let love die but it goes as quickly as it comes and what do we have left? You describe it well.

Love and peace,
Susan
