When we were first married
I didn’t think it would last,
because of all our problems,
but most of them have passed.
We had to have patience to get this far,
I am glad we did, because here we are.
Happy and free from so many scars,
of interfering children who went too far,
to break us up and made us sad.
They didn’t understand the love we had.
Our feelings for each other made them mad.
It’s hard to believe adults would act so bad,
and try to keep their dad from being glad
to have a second chance at love
like non other he has ever had.
We’ve had so many ups and downs
but it’s really made our relationship more sound.
We are learning to listen to our hearts
and that helps us with our brand new starts.
The little things you do to show me you care.
lets me know we have so much to share.
I tell you that you are only mine,
and a better love I will never find.
I know you feel the same about me,
Cause when you look at me, it’s easy to see.
You smile with pride when I tell you you’re handsome
and you tell me you are happy we have overcome
all the obstacles and deceit,
and you know why we were destined to meet.
It seems to me, you can read my mind,
because when I think of something I want
mysteriously, it appears and it’s there for me to find.
I laugh with joy because this happens so much.
I am glad our souls are so in touch.
To love and share, and show each other we care,
no matter what, our bond will always be there.
