Exit Stage Right

Life is a stage and bit players are always entering and then exiting

You dared to entreat me and my emotions, making my fantasies soar,
With love words so tenderly expressed, you taught me to adore.
Daily you visited love upon me, your wooing made me sigh,
But soon you exposed another side of you, that one made me cry.
I became your skipping stone, that you carelessly flung away,
I was a brief thing of amusement that you soon wanted to bid good day.
You once asked for my love, was it all in jest?
When you wooed me, was I a trial test?
You sought me out, your will was always free,
It was your choice to gather me close or leave me be.
You have become one of a cast of players, that exited stage right,
Just a bit player that soon fades from sight.
When new actors grace my stage to briefly shine and then fly,
I know without a doubt, a hello will soon be a good-bye.

Always so very disheartening when special people come and go at a whim. You have penned a wonderfully sincere piece so full of emotion and perhaps a longing love.....

Be safe,
Karen

Enjoyed the almost Shakespearean intensity of emotion in this poem.
