When I think about the Baby Soldiers that were sent to Vietnam, I cry! They gave their all for a America that turned it's back on them! They are HEROES and DESERVE OUR LOVE AND RESPECT and our help!
Once upon a time, in a land called Vietnam,
Babies dressed like soldiers, were sent to fight for Uncle Sam.
They were not yet fully grown, barely able to shave,
They were ripped from their Mother's arms, ordered not to cry, for that's not how soldiers behave.
Why did the Baby Soldiers have to perish, was a fat economy at the core?
Daily more died in a war not classed a war.
When the farce was over, they came home to their angry land,
No one called them hero, no one shook their hand.
There was no ticker-tape parade, just a barrage of spit,
Each soldier held high the torch of resentment that an ungrateful America lit!
For all the Baby Soldiers that fought in Vietnam, I want to say THANK-YOU and you will always be a HERO to me!
Alot of these soldiers have problems that they need addressed by professionals. So much went on in that war and it changed so many men and women that came home. We have to be there for them and let them know we care about them and what they went through. Very good work.

The Vietnam era was a sad time for many military personel and it is even sadder that they were left out in the cold and still suffer the consequences of fighting for their country...They are True Heroes in my eyes...
Many of those "baby soldiers" were more man than those that dodge it or had Daddy to take care of their draft card.
But then again, there were many "baby soldiers" that enlisted and fought and died like men, because right or wrong soldiers go when the country calls, even if the Commander in Chief is a proven coward.
Thanks for this touching write in honor of all who served and all who serve today. I stand and "Salute"...

We will never forget. I grew up during that era and many I knew never came home. The ones who survived...never really survived in their return to the country they knew. They appear as lost to this day.

You are so right on with this one, when we used to see the news about it up here in Canada that's what it seemed like to us...kids being sent to be slaughtered...so very sad.

for those watching on the sideline. I opposed the war but
I love and honor the young men who fought it. From now on,

Me too, me too. It was a wierd time. I was there, horrified at American behavior toward those tired and battered battered returning soldiers. It was like the American public had gone insane. It was an impossible war, fought in impossible terrain against impossible odds and none of them wanted to be there. And they faced even worse when they returned home. This was a time of great American shame. May such a travesty never, ever, happen again. To every one of those soldiers (then and now) Salut! And Semper Fi!
A good one, SC!!! Soldiers who have gone to wars to sacrifice themselves SHOULD BE commended for their bravery and self-sacrifices. Many are emotionally scarred for life!!! One does not understand and won't know the agonies of soldiers in wars unless they are in their shoes.
Veterans should be treated with respect and SHOULD BE allowed a more decent and comfortable living!!!!!
