With apologies to Thomas Paine, I declare myself a proud sunshine
patriot! Doggeral free of charge.

Nuclear Power

by

Jansen Estrup

Don't need no new nukes

to give wannabe Dukes

all that power and pelf,

'cause we could gift ourself

instead.

Before we were loose

in the primal ooze

we worshipped the prize

and she nurtured our eyes

to see

Risen in an eastern spark,

dying in the western dark

We named on ancient stellae

the solar goddess Americi,

the Light.

For three billion years

T'was good enough, dears,

'til black arts Rockyfelllas

tarred lungs and flotillas

in darkness

So apologies to Paine,

only freedom to gain,

I so proudly admit

I'm an all-in sunshine patriot,

                           … arise!

With my very own

unregulated, pollutant free

nuclear power plant, which

I'm so willing to share,

so … here!

Is that Duke as in "Duke Energy"...... They got caught cheating their customers
Somewhere in florida....... Must be interesting to manufacture your own energy
Peace be with you

Like little evles,
we taught ourselves.
From kerosene lamps,
to sunny amps.

Love your poem about our energy journey! C'

That would look great on my south facing roof. Thomas Paine would be proud of your independence from the matrix of the grid. Bravo for your stewardship of the earth. Showing the way to freedom for all!

Come to think of it… I'd better get busy.

No need to apologize as I am sure Tom Paine would approve of today's repackaged sunshine patriot. He might even approve of doggeral when done with your kind of skill. Congrats of your nuclear power plant. I wish I had the natural energy to construct on myself.

You have the correct way of thinking, Jansen, and I will admit it has taken me some time to deal with replacing oil, etc. But I am leaning toward the light these days.
