I am mesmerized by the break-lights in front of me
momentarily taken from the known formula that is my life
my foot lifts and falls with a mind of it's own
stop and go stop and go stop and go
the needle is dancing in the red zone
sixty-seven cents on my floorboard will get me there
how I'll get home is a mystery to me
but I will get there, inch by mesmerized inch
the flickers of red bubbles send signals to my brain
the morning sun digs into my eyeballs
until my head pulses and throbs like an anomaly
she moves in today
with her Chinese eyes and her Chinese name
(that's easier to remember according to her)
I had finally adjusted to the silence of solitude
had finally learned to love absolute stillness
but the invasion begins today
she- who breathes heavily as if eternally excited
she- who looks at you with flickering eyes that jump and bounce
misery stems from too much company.
