Love Thief

The stillness of the water
brought tranquility into my soul,
reminiscent of those long gone days,
when your love was in my heart.
Somehow, love fled,
like a thief in the night,
stealing all the love energy
that was stored deeply within.
How could that thief
steal my love,
when I held it ever so tight,
maybe it wasn't mine to keep, afterall.
I stand looking at that blue ocean,
and feel nothing,
I am empty and cold,
like that thief that got away clean.
Where has that love gone,
will that thief return something
that surely does not belong to him?
Or will it be gone forever?
Love is what we all look for,
do we go searcing for it?
Does it find us?
Let's ask that love thief, maybe he knows!
