Came across another "lost" write from June, 2007. Probably a few others hiding in the corners or under a rug or maybe even eaten by a pug. (Couldn't help myself; just had to say that). ENJOY !
By far, the best way to travel I’ve found,
Is printed on paper in a good book;
Step back in the past or jump to the future,
Any time at all, take a second look.
You’ll never get caught in a traffic jam,
Start out in the morning or late at night;
Don’t you bother packing a single thing,
Travel anywhere that makes you feel right.
I’ve been on the moon and to the stars,
I’ve visited Heaven, far up above;
Explored the bottom of the deep blue sea,
I’ve been enveloped by an Angel’s love.
I aided in building the pyramids,
Landed with the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock;
Built an orphanage near Lima, Peru,
Flew on the Enterprise with Mr. Spock.
I spent a day in the Garden of Eden,
And walked with Jesus in the Holy Land;
I was Left Behind when others went Home,
I was born again when He took my hand.
The possibilities are quite endless,
Once you’ve lost yourself in the pages;
So many things you can choose from,
On this day or down through the ages.
Cross the Delaware with Gen. Washington,
Be an astronaut and fly to the moon;
Be sure to use your imagination,
You can go anywhere you want real soon.
The TV is fine and movies are great,
But to put yourself where the action’s at;
Check out the library, read a good book,
The Bible, Tom Clancy or Cat in the Hat.

I love this poem. It truly describes he joy and pleasure and vicarious experiences of reading. It is inspiring--makes me want to go on one of those page-turning journeys you present.

Truer words were never spoken. Nothing is impossible and time is never lost while reading. Peace, Love and God's Blessings Always, Paul.
