Six days on the road

6 days on the road
and they finally let me go.
been to the phsyc ward
to see what they know.

been sittin' & thinkin'.
sittin' & drinkin'.
sittin' and sinkin'.

started goin' too deep.
slippin' & slidin' towards the deep sleep.
ponderin' what the reaper reaps.

so i called 9-1-1.
they came on the run.
got there fast.
took me to the 7th floor.
said " have a blast ".

so they pushed & they prodded.
they questioned and they asked.
said " man you're about as low as you can go ".
i just nodded.
" you're depressed, got a mental block ".
i said " no shit sherlock,
i coulda' told ya' that ".

so they gave me some meds.
tried to clear my head.
kept me safe & clean.
now i'm better, ain't so lean.

6 days on the road.
they finally let me go.
feelin' good, feelin' better.
least now i don't feel like
written' that good-bye letter.

What I like about your poetry...it's so 'danged' honest! Clear and powerful...

You're use of words is great, and train of thought is clear, and this ending was a lift, but I get depressed easily.
