Many things can make an instant impact on us,
From a picture to a voice,
From a thought to an action,
The impact can induce a positive or negative reaction.
Choose to be a positive impact,
In an online world riddled with more lies, than fact.
So true. So many are believing lies on the Internet these days. It helps to have good lie detector to keep from being caught up in a lie. Trained journalists are taught to check their sources and verify them before reporting. It is sad that so many do not believe the mainstream news sources anymore. They are still the harbingers of truth.
However, I find the use of "impact" to be overused and misused. It means to be hit hard by something, like, "The impact of the car hitting the barrier was followed by the impact of his head on the windshield because he wasn't wearing his chest belt and the car had no airbag."
I much prefer, for most things that affect us or make an "impression" on us something more realistic. No one is impacted by seeing a flock of foreboding crows landing in a tree. They may just be frightened.
