The Sudan: through eyes and words of the author himself, an personal eyewitness account of the human tragedy. Not meant as a political statement, or shock/awe, but as an awareness of man’s own inhumanity to mankind.
“Do a little more each day than you think you can”
(Lowell Thomas)

Poem Artwork

Cry for the Land
A hunger ridden place
rotting flesh and deep eyes of despair
emaciated bodies of people
A sickened sea
of humanity before me
I am shocked
they tear at my heart
Unforgivable and Unforgettable
I hear the cry of the poor
the wailing, the stench
the sounds of pain
loneliness and rejection
They try to save lives but there are
too many
The world’s response may be too little and perhaps too late
Yet I know the world returns or remain in their everyday routines
so the loud cry of the poor grows silent...
I must go into the places of need,
neglect and abandonment,
to comfort those who are crying out in pain
What can I do, am I the only one?
What difference can I make?
Take heart, Don’t worry
You are too big with the little you offer
Trust in Him and place what your can
He will multiply it and make a difference
But He can’t use me unless I try
to be an instrument of peace in a land
where there is no rest for the weary
He works with me, in me, and through me.

Inshallah

For AD readers and visitors---thank you always for your support and understanding.

The inspirational audiobook,"The Devil Came on Horseback" is an intense, vivid autobiographical report.
From the heart of violent Darfur and a call to action by a former American Marine who became a military observer for the African Union.
The first extensive on-the-ground account of the genocide in Sudan.
Listen to a powerful memoir of one soldier's awakening to conscience and his awkward, heroic transformation from Marine to humanitarian. While bearing witness to unmentionable atrocities, this compelling story offers evidence that the actions of just one
committed person have the power to transform the world.

All AD visitors have a free sample of this compelling audiobook awaiting at the link below.

Myles,

No holds barred horror of man's inhumanity to man. Somewhere, we've lost the ability to care...tragic. Excellently penned; thank you for opening eyes that refuse to see.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Truly sad, and truly powerfully penned.

“Do a little more each day than you think you can”

And a quote that could serve us all very well these days.

Tuberculosis: The Greatest Story Never Told by Frank Ryan

The heroic story of how a small group of people, few of them TB experts, found the cure for the greatest killer in human history. But the battle needed to be extended to all sufferers. Why have we failed to take the miracle to the developing world?
