There is nothing more perfect than a "lustrous pearl", a gem ndeed! I enjoyed this simple yet imaginative write. One can almost feel the smooth texture of the Mother of Pearl between one's fingers.

Chrissie...I said it before but I will repeat it again...you are the master of the subtle haiku. this poem encourages the reader to read and reread these simple three lines that are as sweet to the heart as sugar is to the tongue. You encapsule the beauty of the mother/child relationship and quite literally serve it up on a clam(oyster) shell. I love it.
