Bombings and violence have recurred around the world, but sinister forces behind these political maneuverings seem unmindful of the deaths they cause as they play their games on the global chess board.

CHESS LIKE THAT?

by Cynthia Buhain-Baello
December 10, 2008

Just another round of the chess game,
Rooks and bishops fall dead on the board
Apolitical horses have gone lame
As the dead count to a hundred soared.
Black and white squares are now bloody red,
Grieve for the pawns who've been blown up dead,
Replan, restart this political game
Plot a quick rechauffe on the frame-
And then fix a duel of nuclear kings,
For aren't your motives just a chess thing?

And all for what? Power, dominance, control. The same tired dribblings of individuals who have lost the ability to look out for the common good.

Well said!

And so it goes on and on; day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, century after century... A timely and apt write, Cynthia. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

Well crafted, Cynthia. Chess is an excellent platform for this message. We see feints and distractions and pay no attention to that quiet piece in the back row (Poland) who, in a brilliant shift, will reveal a check-mate where Russia falls as planned from the beginning. And the following game will be against China, a master chess-player, indeed. Good poem!!!

A MOST POWERFUL WRITE CYNTHIA
Well penned
Our child continue to die
while idle mouths babble
While weapons corporate CEO's
lined their pockets with
The blood of our youths
Love & peace be with you

A graphic analogy of the sad history of the world. It's always the pawns that suffer the most.

Don't know when this chess game is going to end unless the master changes the course of the game and calls us all home.
