Poem Artwork

Dark spirits gravitate
to those endowed with greatest light,
migrate en masse, irate,
fixed on toppling spiritual height.

Instantly attracted
to opposite mystical force,
all goodness extracted,
iniquity predestined course,

they rush righteous ones, these
demons of negativity,
like kudzu covers trees,
grow in shadow, cling steadfastly.

Wherever they find good,
they would drain energy, power,
from hearts of those who would
dispel darkness, make them cower.

Beings of brightness seek
greater good, meet oppression strong,
but Love reigns when we’re weak
and, with our service, rights all wrong.

Those of the Light still shine
when attacked by wickedness;
we, branches, God the Vine
sustains, protects, will ever bless.

Only this is required:
remember who and whose we are,
hold to faith acquired,
look beyond dark sky, find Love’s star.

To heaven turn your gaze,
eternal Source of refinement.
Set fire of hope ablaze;
resist evil, soul’s confinement.

an excellent spiritual poem exploring the forces of the dark and the light ... those close to the light must always be on guard because darkness is attarcted to the light ...

Again, I find myself in agreement with Lori. The first verse tells it all. You have discerned a truth here and put it out for all to see. This is outstanding in every way.

Dawn, this is a truly inspired piece of poetry, I believe, in both content and form. You have been really gifted with this. It is enlightened, illuminating and like a bright light shining into darkness to point the way. Your light thus shines in the darkness and the darkness will never overcome it. I trust that all that pass by this way today will find that a bright flame of hope is kindled in their hearts, minds and spirits. Thank you for this. Kate xx

I believe you have described the spiritual conflict around us perfectly. To me, the first stanza says it all. Great job.
