What lurks in the shadows at night?

Out in the forest and out of sight,

What is that flare, that dancing light,

Shadows and flame.

 

What stands over there, behind those trees,

Buzzing around like a hive of bees?

Looking at me as if he sees,

Those shadows and flame.

 

Stop! Look! He is coming this way,

What do I do? What can I say,

He is so handsome it drives me insane,

 And into the shadows and flame.

 

And now he speaks with voice so soft,

I feel like I'm floating into the loft,

And all I can see all around me,

Are those shadows and flame.

 

Now he speaks to me of love so true ,

I hope in my heart that I'll never rue,

The day I found him while feeling so blue,

 Walking in those shadows and flame.
