Billie Holiday is one not forgotten even to amateur jazz ears. A sad talent too fragile to exist. "and took a Holiday from which there was no return." So many artists, talents go that way, the needles, the streets. I suppose that's the hear of, not of so many among us.

Ella Fitzgerald and blue-eyes Frankie is the ones that my wife let go when she feels kind of bugging me with music.
Dino Martin, Billie H and Leonard Cohen are the one for me to listen when the muses are knocking in my door (but classic too, violin concerts I though)
Very few of today's newcomers seems to appreciate the good music and the good lyrics of yesterday (who let the dogs out? gimme a break, what kind of lyrics are that?)
The author, with simple words, gives a beautiful and literary sound tribute to one of the greats.
