blue chord struck

good friendship...like a cherished photo album...must be opened from time to time...to renew its remembrance.

How it is that unhappiness sometime
catches our eye...as we stroll past the
windows of happiness...in the marketplace of the soul?

The glistening wares of friendship...seem to...for a time...remain on the shelf...when we are distracted by the complexities of the day...blind to the beauteous harmony...of a friend long forgotten.

A blue chord struck...can yet awaken a desire to shed more light...in the dimly lit hallways of melancholy...and reattach our self to a union we may have lost...in passing...corridors of self absorption.

If we can once again...dust off each ware...and hold it as individual...special...the shelf will lose its prominence...and the friendships we acquired long ago...will forever...be suspended freely above our soul.

Boy do you hit the soul. We sometimes take those old friends for granted, after reading this terrific poem, I'm going to email everyone of them. Thanks my friend, Bonnie

I love this, but, sometimes the "blue chord struck" just keeps ringing... and I don't get the resolution like you find in your searching poetry (well except at the piano, without words!)

We are all parts of who we meet along the way. Hopefully we adopt the good parts of people and suspend them, as love mobiles to excite the air with movement and keep our memories alive.

How many times we heard that somebody got one, how many times we ourselves got the blues...because happines is an explosive moment, not a permanent state, while unhappines tend to hold for dire life.
The cure for a melancholic moment is a good friend and two tumblers filled with Glenfiddich.
Cheers!

There are friendships like that which seem to stand the test of time. These friends never really care how rich your are, just that you have been wealthy in love. Enjoyed

Thank God for those precious pictures that have been frozen in time only for us to reawaken them and bring them back to life in our mind.
