The Innocent Voyeur

The old man glances
through his window
to one in the building below.
Through slats awry
in seduction's haste,
candlelight strobes on
sweat-glistened bodies.
He watches, transfixed,
the images through the blinds,
eyes too frozen to obey.
(Close your eyes! Go to bed!)
Two bodies love, unaware
of the innocent intrusion.
He watches, aroused,
passion rising in
both rooms now.
A goddess bent over a sofa,
Adonis behind
in the flickering light.
A conqueror, a conquest,
and memories
of his own youth
rekindle and burn
and the old man cries.
Bittersweet memories
chanced through the blinds
and he cries.

On the surface, the man may be thought of as a Peeping Tom, but you have given us a good metaphor for how we all return to past memories and the sorrow we have for things lost. Well done CJ.

An excellent write CJ
I hate pipping Toms
Yet I pitty the old fool
I don't have a nearby house for me to spy upon
MY rear vista is purely swamp
can even see the frogs mating.
Peace be with you

Merry Christmas

Standing On My Knees by Pinkstone

I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work. I wanted to purchase a sukiyaki sub. I parked my car in an area of
