Woman, Teenager, Child
Slowly you reached out and touched me
Across all these lonely miles
Your voice so gently caresses me
As I picture in my mind, your smiles
The woman that I am in life
Had a hidden teenager inside
You have brought her out in me
I am woman, teenager and child
I am woman in that I want you
In all ways that a woman wants a man
I want you to reach out and touch me
In all those ways I know you can
I am also that teenager
With the excitement you arouse in me
It’s like experiencing love for the very first time
An emotion so sweet, so pure, so free
Then there is the child in me
Who wants you to reach out and hold her tight
Put your arms around her and tell her
Darling, it’s okay, everything will be alright
So in all that I am right now
And with that I say and do
I don’t want to let another moment go by
Without saying “I am so very glad that I met you”.

I believe that life is about those lessons, and about the people we meet along the way who have an impact in our lives, sometimes without us even realising it. It's so hard to believe that the simplest thing like a smile, can change a persons life dramatically. We may not notice the effects that smile has had on someone, but it could be enough to let that person know that someone else cared about them enough to smile, even for just a moment. What others feel is not measured on what we do, but on what they "see and feel" in what we do. You laugh, my heart dances. How are you to know that, if I do not tell you.... the same goes with most things in life. We know what we feel, but unless we are told by others, we can't always know what they are feeling. There are the obvious things that give us a direction/indication, like a persons tears, laughter, smiles, but it's the inner things that we so often keep to ourselves, that can have the biggest impact on our lives. The things that people can't see. I want to share all of that with you and I hope that you won't mind when I do and that you can accept that part of me also. The mature woman, the teenager, the child for each of those lives within me and makes me who I am today.
