Forget these gentle
tremors in the night,
there only little
gifts for you to bless.
For every one I carry
to your lips,
I take away the prize
of something less.
So sleep my love
and worry not your heart,
but let me contemplate
some time alone.
Then I shall carry
roses to our bed,
and kiss them all
for each time I atone.
