At your best, at your worst
you always will be special to me
when you fall, when you weep
I’m never too far away from you
on my shoulder you can always lean
Let the tear drops fall, I will catch them
(I’ll make every one of them into a pearl necklace)
Come to me
Let me share your worries
I’ll always be nearby
To remind you of how wonderful you are
What no one sees
Is what we both know
You’re vulnerable, human, incomplete
I’m willing to step aside, as hard as it may be
Willing to let go, if that’s what you need
(Time and space to grow)
To be the best you can ever be
So that the world, can also get to see
What it is, that I see in you
Sunshine, magic, heaven, beautiful you
The road ahead awaits you
Step into your best shoes, put them to use
Let your every step turn to gold
(Watch yourself fly)
And when the darkness crawls in like it sometimes does
let the smile on your face be because
you know someone, somewhere, loves you and loves you unconditionally
too
(Unconditional love…it comes with learning how to let go…)
I am in the process of preparing to send my oldest daughter (Ahna C, here on the den) out into the world... it is so scary in many ways! This poem struck a chord with me about letting her go.
Check out nessa blaine's "necklace rain"-- beautiful picture for both of your poems, and a similar theme, and besides, she's one of the best I've ever, ever read. You have an extreme amt of talent, to make us see what you see, and think on some mighty fine concepts too. --Charlie
Wow! One part of this reminds me of one man I use to know, the other part reminds me of another man/friend I know...
both of them I love unconditionally. And, learning to Let Go is not easy, specially when we love someone so much, even if only as a dear friend. My poem and article regarding Letting Go speaks of this...
and it is true that it is better to let go and if the person(s) come back then you know it is right.
Beautiful write as usual Bernice.
From First Love to its destructive end and on to new beginnings, Mary Angela Nangini's poems explore the birth and death of a relationship. The powerful poems are presented in two parts with an introduction to her next book My Ontario Beautiful. (Th
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!

An inspiring poem about real love, not just romantic love, but love of a mate or chum, too... Loving without attachment...
