A young girl pushed into marriage at a very ripe age
"You'll learn how to love him." you were told
When every thing around you screamed No!,
The survivor in you chose to keep me
chose to love me even when there was no more love left to give
Because of you, there is a special day marked for me on a calender to celebrate
So, I just want to take the time to tell you on this day
Happy Birth Day Mama
It is not my day,
This day belongs to you mom
...to celebrate your bravery
...to announce your destiny
...to acknowledge your legacy
...to proclaim your majesty
...to be humbled by your love
Thank you mama
for those favored by God have eternal life
So if my birth is yours as well
I've been given a gift more precious than any other
