Rouge à Lèvre

(Rouge à Lèvre is French for "Lipstick. She was in love with someone who didn't know she existed. He was a painter, she was a plane Jane, no! she could never let him know how she felt. But she'll wait everyday when he left his studio to walk past him--maybe someday he'll notice--just so their shadows would touch at that line...)

We’ve never met
never shared a glance
but my world
has become entangled
in the wild
of your hair
and like a seedling
I thirst
for your affection...
From a secret window
at a pocket of my heart
I watch
the curve of your back
the ease with which
each stroke creates
the infinite colors
of me
perhaps?
I wish…
Caught
in a web
of seek and go hide
I’m no longer mine
yours instead...
Another evening
falls
upon this boulevard
Another secret rendezvous
I must hurry
I must go
to the one
I long to kiss
To have
our shadows cross again
that line
when we become one…
and for a moment
the scent of you
all red with passion
paints a kiss
like lipstick
upon my lip

Where do you get your inspiration from? I really need to be more eloquent when I write a review on any of your poems but more often than not I just want to gush spontanuosly about how they've moved me, sometimes for no particular reason...like this one right here. Its simply beautiful

I have to giggle Bernice and smile that my artist friend inspired this writing. I don't think his girlfriend will be too jealous :-) he he he.

Oh! those secret evening summer rendezvous about the shores of the Paris Seinen under the archs of the bridge going to the Invalides...
Don't remember the color of the rouge...but how it taste.........
