Delight in my fresh apples
that were once raisins
see how they rejoice
see how they blossom
from browns to pinks
In my garden
you'll find neither thorns nor weeds
come, look
travel slowly
enjoy the view
and when you reach
the crater bed
press your ear against its pit
listen, Fairuz sings
then let me guide you
to a place near the fountain
an elegant vineyard
of purest wine...
tatse my pomegranates too
have your fill
awaken the sea
watch it dance above
your crowned head
but make it better again
plant a kiss
on my shivering bed
oh, how it pleases me
that it pleases you so
come, my lord--
gaze into forever
Saphire into olives
our eyes lock
we taste of eachother
with mounds of jello...
welcome to my kingdom
prince of Lebanon
welcome to shebaa farms
I know you're here to stay
I will reward you
with this border
to cultivate
with beautiful streets of gold

(Fairuz is a well known Lebanese singer. Shebaa farms, the border in Syria that has been demarcated by the UN, is still disputed by Lebanon. Rick is part Lebanese and I love their mediterranean cuisine :- )

A garden of a mind without blemish, and the seduction in the vein of song of songs.... This is one beautiful and very sensual poem...
