She thought herself invincible,
a bird and the whole world her sky
so from grace she fell--broken, bruised
only to realize for you to walk
you must first have done some crawling
and in order to fly
one must first learn to walk!
great poetic message here, I got into an argument over maturation, someone was trying to tell me that the crawling and walking process didn't count when it came to maturity. But there is a special way that we must learn to walk even after we learn to walk, it takes courage to learn to walk with confidence when people are trying to make you crawl again, especially in this writing world. Our own worse enemy is inside of us, the negativity programed in by others and ourselves. The fear of failure, personally I'm going to mess up real bad before I let fear stop me if this is the case, every since I wrote my first book the naysayers, even my own brother have been coming at me with their negativity, I told my brother to tell someone who gives a phuck, it took his jealous behind 5 years to get my book, then when he did he tried to attack the format, like I told him, three libraries picked it up and the overall reponse has been about 90 percent positive. As far as I'm concerned he can take his little 10 percent of jealous negativity and shove it, no body rules me anymore but one, and that's the man up above, sometimes honestly I let him know where to back off, shucks the first man failed, this thing called life is basically a game played to be lost, depending on where your mind is, I don't give a cluck what's going on, my fault, their fault, Jesus Christ's fault or whatever, I'm a winner, this is the way I think, even if I lose I'm still a winner, losing won't take the thought out of my mind, nothing but death, even then I'm going to reach up out of the grave. This is very powerful piece of verse my dear poetess, it got me to rattling off, hugs :-)

Remember when my mother wrote me a long letter my senior year. It was a letter of warning and advice and love. I skimmed it reading through the lines with the eyes of youth thinking -- I already know it all. I can so relate to your words above! Well Done, Deborah
