for I am tired and weak
Am I strong enough for you

why are you holding on
is it me you're waiting for
are you waiting for me to tell you to let go
are you waiting for a bye-bye
no, don't I'm not strong enough to do that--not just yet
you can give me all the rain and tears
take away my miracle
but please don't ask me to say goodbye
Finding such poetic sincerity in such a trying time is a precious gift Bernice. Such honesty here, honesty that touches the deepest parts of the heart. Kudos!

Sometimes the hardest part of letting go is acceptance that it is really over. We tend to wait and stall hoping for a last minute retrieve and that seems to be the heart of this painful but real write.

It's alright to cry B, you don't have to say goodbye though, this is up to you, love ones never leave us, they will visit in our dreams and live in our memory. Great verse in reference, hugs and B strong. :-)

The tears flow as my heart breaks for you. My dear dad has passed and there's such a large empty place that he use to be filled with laughter and so much love. Prepare yourself my friend. Then again I doubt no matter how much we try if we are really ever prepared. My prayers are with you both.

Saying good-bye is incredibly difficult! I didn't have the chance to say good-bye to my mom or to even talk to her before she passed away. I have, so many times, wished that I had hopped on a plane and flown home when I heard that she had collapsed. 18 hours later she was gone... If only I had thought to try and call the hospital...maybe I wouldn't have been able to speak to her, but maybe I would have been able to... I will never know, but sometimes it still haunts me... and I miss her. My family doesn't often express love in words, but I wish that I had been able to tell her one last time that I love her...

This is one of the hardest things to do. To say good bye to an ailing parent. Just know one thing, His spirit will always live on in your heart and soul. He will not be very far, my dear one.
