sometimes I look, in the late afternoon

stare into the sun

while its low on the horizon

daring to see

into  beams of extreme light

perhaps just to prove

the will and the might

abolishing some fear

of its wrong or its right

i squinted at first

a sliver between trees

then full face wide eyed

i examined much deeper

allowing the rays to penetrate

my sight, sear into my brain

and land straight to my heart

receiving a rush of wonderous

success,  waves of beams

and extensions of star dust

the performance indeed magnificent

Thank you for sharing the experience, Debby. I am sure you do not literally "stare into the sun;" as Ron says, that is very dangerous. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Beautiful the rays and the star dust to envision.

That can be very dangerous. I prefer to let cameras take the beautiful pictures that I see of the sun and its magnificent ability to power our world. I take great comfort in knowing that it is only about halfway through its life and that we have 3 or 4 billion years yet before the fuel within it begins to burn out and endanger the Earth.

I have never looked directly into the sun because it could cause blindness...

When I wrote ths book in 2000, I was concerned about children having access to the Internet and to chat rooms where "you can be anyone you want." Here we are many years later and the situation with children talking freely to stangers on the Internet
